Required for a September start, a Senior Science Technician to work in the Science Department. You will be required to lead the work of the existing Science Technicians including providing guidance as appropriate and providing suitable training. The Senior Technician will also be responsible for the management of Science apparatus and materials, including stock taking and will liaise closely with three Subject Leaders (Biology, Chemistry & Physics) and the Director of Science to ensure students in school enjoy a positive and rewarding practical learning experience. Good personal and communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential, together with the physical ability to transport bulky equipment around school. The successful candidate will be reliable, hard working and be able to manage a team in a professional and flexible way. A Scientific background and/or laboratory experience is an essential requirement of this post and it is expected that the successful candidate will have 2-3 years of experience as a school or college technician.
