A PRU in Enfield are looking for a Secondary Maths teacher to cover maternity until December 2012. The school provide a safe and stable background for young people who may have been excluded from schools or are former gang members. The PRU has a strong focus on family involvement and personal development for all students in the PRU. This ethos is adhered to throughout the school and it is expected that temporary staff will teach with this in mind. In last years Ofsted inspection, the Unit was rated as grade 2 overall, meaning it is a good school.

You will be teaching Maths to GCSE to various groups of students with between 8 -10 students in each group, some of the students in the class may have moderate learning difficulties and others may be rated as gifted and talented so differentiation is vital. You will generally be supported by 1 learning mentor who will be experienced with the students and their patterns, having worked at the unit for some time. Although this is a PRU, it is run as a small school and has excellent facilities and well resourced classrooms. Staff turnover at this school is low; the staff you will be working with are passionate about the work they are doing and the Senior Management Team (SMT) are very supportive.

You must have QTS and the right to work in the UK.

The PRU is located close to Edmonton Green station, there is ample parking outside for drivers and the Unit can be accessed from Hertfordshire via the A10 or from Essex via the M25.
