Job Description As a Physical Education Teacher you will be responsible for all Physical Education classes both in the School gym and on the campus grounds. In addition to teaching and proving class management, you will model appropriate social skills, provide positive behavioural support, and continuously interact with clients. As a teacher you will responsible for guiding the TA's in classroom management and lessons, and fostering a therapeutic learning environment while helping to ensure that each client's Individual Education Plan (IEP) is met. You will have the opportunity to create an environment for learning, promote confidence and perseverance, set limits and help a client process a behavioural incident while providing a safe environment and encouraging participation in the activities. While the pace can be hectic some times, the environment is rewarding, as all staff members work as a team to promote the well being of the children and adolescents we serve. Key words: Special Education, Behavioural classrooms Job Requirements For consideration, you must: " Qualified physical Education Teacher " Have experience working with behavioural students " Have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs. The selected candidate will demonstrate: " Flexibility, patience, high energy, creativity, and a sense of humour; " An ability to create and maintain a therapeutic treatment environment; " Compassion, empathy, and an ability to maintain sound boundaries; and " A passion for working with, and guiding children and adolescents with significant and challenging special needs. Have at least one (1) year of related experience and hold a valid CRB.
