Job Title: After School Club Play Worker
Responsible to: The After School Club Team Leader
Hours: 14:30 to 18:15 term time only
Pay: Minimum wage + depending on experience
Job Purpose: To assist with the provision of out of school play care for children aged (4 – 12).
Key Responsibilities:
• To be aware of information required to meet the individual needs of the children and inform the supervisor of changes for record purposes
• To take part in the collection and escorting of children from Emmer Green Primary School
• As a team member to take part in:
o Originating, planning and delivering activities which provide a variety of experiences for the children
o Help organise and get involved in arts and crafts activities with the children
o Ensuring adequate supervision of indoor and outdoor activities
o Supervising and assisting children at meal times
o Providing varied and nutritious snacks (complying with Health and Safety requirements)
o Keeping a registration of attendance
o Conducting fire safety procedures
o Monitoring the condition of play equipment
o Providing first aid where required
o Using premises with consideration for other users
o Upholding the Club’s policy on discipline
o Supporting all aspects of the Club’s policies on Equal Opportunities and Child Protection
• To maintain communication with parents and carers
• To assist in liaison with school staff
• To take part in occasional planning meetings and feedback to the supervisor
• To undertake other duties as may become necessary and agreed with the supervisor; eg keeping first aid box filled, sorting activity materials, keeping store areas tidy.
